Hello World!

Hi everyone, and welcome! I wanted to share a little bit about myself & my business for anyone that might be here and interested :)

I have always had a passion for photography and used to dream of having a "real" camera! I loved documenting time with friends and family while growing up, and I still enjoy looking back at old pictures. In December 2014, my husband and I found out we were pregnant with our first child. I got my first big girl camera as a Christmas gift that year and then, it sat in the box.. for months. I found it kind of overwhelming and I was frustrated that my photos weren't as spectacular as I had dreamed they would be the first moment I used it. Come spring time, I was bit by the photography bug, I began reading everything I could find to learn about my camera. I started shooting in Manual Mode and wanted to learn more every day! Practice truly did grow my skill throughout the year and once our baby girl joined us, I was excited to have a subject to practice on. By the fall, I even had a few friends ask me to take some photos for them. This confidence encouraged me to keep pushing my education and practice!

After Thanksgiving 2015, we found out that my husband would be leaving for his second deployment when our daughter was only 4 months old. At that time, we decided it would be best for me not to return to my job from maternity leave so that I could stay home and take care of our daughter (and myself!) in his absence. During my husband's 9 month deployment, photography was an amazing outlet for me. I love creating beautiful images and looking at things in a different way through my lens. I love composing boldly with light whenever possible and I even love learning the possibilities of editing software.

In early 2016, I really felt called to take a chance and start a photography business. I was able to build my portfolio and improve upon the skills I had already learned. I have been so blessed in this first year of business and I can't express enough gratitude to the families that I was able to work with. Thank you for giving me a chance. Thank you for letting me work out a vision for your shoots. Thank you for supporting a local small business. Thank you for being a dream to work with!

My joy comes in photographing happy people. I love seeing your connections with one another and documenting your natural interactions and moments. I hope that you can see that from my photos and feel that in our interactions! I hope you learned something helpful about me or my business, and I hope that I will have the pleasure of working with you in the future!
